Types of Boilers
At Tailored Heat we can provide you with three different types of Boilers, all of which one of our fully trained and qualified engineers will advise you on the best choice for your home. The three types of Boilers we supply are:
- Combi Boilers
- System Boilers
- Regular Boilers
Combi BoilersA combi boiler is both a high efficiency water heater and central heating in a single compacted unit. Water is directly heated from the mains when you turn on the tap, so you don’t need a hot or cold water storage tank.
A combi boiler is also cost effective and energy efficient as water is heated rapidly rather than being stored in a water storage cylinder. An added benefit of this means hot water is delivered at mains pressure which means you can get a powerful shower without the need for a separate pump.
System BoilerSystem boilers require a cylinder for storing hot water, however the heating and hot water system components are built into the boiler itself, making it quick and easy to install. What’s more is there is no need for a tank in the loft so it can be a fantastic option in a home with little or no loft space. A system boiler is also compatible with solar water heating systems which deliver environmental benefits as well as lower energy bills.
Regular BoilersA traditional or conventional boilers are more suited to homes that already have a traditional heating and hot water system which is linked to a separate hot water cylinder. These boilers need a cold water storage tank in the loft to feed the hot water cylinder as well as a tank that maintains the level of the central heating system.
A regular boiler may be the best option for replacing an existing boiler if the property has an older radiator system, as it might not be able to cope with the higher water pressure that is delivered by system or combi boilers.
